Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi faces flood-like situation as river Beas swells due to incessant rainfall

Mandi (Himachal Pradesh), July 11 (ANI): No immediate respite for locals in Himachal, as rain has been battering the state for the last few days. The hill state has been ravaged by landslides amid continuous rainfall in parts of Himachal. Mandi is facing a flood-like situation as the water level significantly increased. The river is flowing ferociously in the Mandi district above the danger level. Nature's fury in the state has claimed 20 lives over the past 48 hours. A ‘red alert’ has been issued by IMD for most of the districts of the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on July 10, spoke to the Himachal CM over the prevailing situation. The Prime Minister has assured full support to the state from the Central Government.
